Owls and Mustangs Tie for Second in Swimming Preseason Poll

Season opens on October 13
The American Athletic Conference released its first-ever preseason swimming coaches poll and the top three returning teams from last year's championship figure to battle for the team title next February.
Affiliate member FIU, which finished second to Houston was tabbed as the preseason favorite, picked up four of six first-place votes and 35 total points. SMU and Rice, which finished third and fourth last year received one of the two remaining first-place votes and were tied for second with 29 points. East Carolina (18) was fourth, followed by FAU (13), Tulane (12), and North Texas (11).
The 2024 AAC Championship will be held from February 22-24 in Dallas. Rice opens its fall dual season by hosting Denver on October 13-14.
