Kirchdorfer Tied for Ninth After Round One of Argent Financial Classic

Choudrant, La. — Graduate student Jay Kirchdorfer opened his 2023 season with a two-under par 70 to sit in a tie for ninth-place after one round of the Argent Financial Classic.
Kirchdorfer recorded four birdies, nine pars and notched an eagle on the ninth-hole to close the round. It was his 21st career round of par or better.
In his first career collegiate round, freshman Reggie Zhu posted a one-under 71, notching four birdies in his round, to sit in a 17th-place tie.
Sophomore Lukas Boandl is tied for 39th-place at two-over par after carding a 74. Junior Raghav Chugh posted a 76, sitting in a tie for 57th-place and senior Blake Benson is tied for 67th-place after posting a 77. Freshman Jaivir Pande, in his first career round, is tied for 85th-plcae after carding an 80.
The Owls are tied with Middle Tennessee at three-over par, two strokes behind fifth-place Houston. Central Arkansas leads the tournament at nine-under par, eight strokes in front of Louisiana. Owen Stamper of Middle Tennessee leads the individual tournament at seven-under par, three strokes in front of Houston's Santiago De La Fuente and Zach Little of UCA.
