Rice Leads C-USA Championships After Day Three

DENTON – The Rice women's track and field team saw top finishes across the track to maintain the overall team score lead heading into the final day of competition at the C-USA Championships in Denton.
The Owls opened the day with a second-place finish in the discus from Julie Perez while also getting additional points from Morgan Fey's sixth-place finish.
Eliza Kraule followed up her heptathlon title yesterday by adding a crucial point for the Owls with an eighth-place finish in the long jump.
Rice got one last key point in the final event of the night with Katlyn Schmeltzer's eighth-place finish in the steeplechase.
