Blake Benson Ties for Fourth-Place at Craft Farms Intercollegiate

Gulf Shores, Ala. — Junior Blake Benson had the best tournament of his career, finishing two-under par and tying for fourth-place at the Craft Farms Intercollegiate
Benson began the day by closing out his second round with a career-low 69. He followed that with a 70. He now has four rounds of par or better. He also set career-lows for 36-hole (144) and 54-hole scores (214). It is fourth individual top-five finish for the Owls this year.
The Rice Golf team finished in fifth-place at 14-over par. It is the fourth top-five finish for the Owls this year.
Freshman Lukas Boandl tied for 22nd-place at four-over par after closing with rounds of 74-73. Graduate student Jay Kirchdorfer finished his second round with a 71, his team-leading 11th round of par or better this year, before closing with a 74 to finish six-over par in a 30th-place tie.
Senior Forrest Park tied for 43rd-place at nine-over par after carding closing with a 79-74 and freshman Davis Byrd had rounds of 90-82 to tie for 73rd-place at 30-over par.
Texas State won the team competition at three-under par, three strokes in front of South Alabama. Oakland's Colin Sikkenga earned medalist honors at five-under par, one stroke in front of WKU's Nic Hofman and Jordan Plunkett of South Alabama.
