Owls Claim Consolation Doubles on Final Day of Regional

de la Bassetiere falls in singles semifinals
Fort Worth: Kabeer Kapasi and Yasha Zemel won an all-Rice final in the consolation doubles while Arthus de la Bassetiere fell short in a pair of tiebreakers in the consolation singles semifinals to close out action for Rice at the ITA Texas Men's Regional at the Friedman Tennis Center on Sunday.
Details- Kapasi and Zemel opened the day's action by defeating de la Bassetiere and Eduardo Morais to win the consolation doubles. de la Bassetiere then defeated UTSA's Ross Jackson in straight sets to advance to the consolation semifinals where he faced SMU's Eric Hadigian, who advanced with a straight set win over Rice's Emir Sendogan. Neither player could establish much breathing room, but Hadigian emerged with the win by taking back-to-back tiebreakers to advance to the singles final.
