
Soccer Continues Homestand Against Loyola (Md.)

HOUSTON — The Rice Soccer team continues its four-match homestand this Thursday, Aug. 25, when it hosts Loyola (Md.). Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT and the match will be streamed by CUSAtv.

Scouting Rice
• Head Coach Brian Lee is in his fourth season at the helm of the Rice soccer program. He holds a 34-16-7 record in three seasons and is 321-204-62 in 25 years as a head coach.
• Rice welcomes back 14 letterwinners and eight starters from last year's squad that went 10-5-2.
• Senior midfielder Delaney Schultz leads the midline after earning Conference USA Player of the Year honors last year.
• Rice returns seven of its top 10 scorers from last year, led by Schultz, who tallied nine goals, and sophomore Natalie Gorji and junior Izzy McBride, who added three and two goals apiece.

• Loyola (Md.) welcomes back 21 letterwinners and eight starters from last year's squad that went 8-6-4.
• Midfielders Baylee DeSmit and Sarah Mirr are the Greyhounds' leading returning scorers with nine points apiece.
• DeSmit had four goals and an assist while Mirr tallied three goals and three assists.
• Goalkeeper Paige Sims returns to the Greyhounds and was named the Patriot League's Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year.
