
Rice Soccer Begins Home Slate Against Samford

HOUSTON — The Rice Soccer team will open its 2022 home slate this Sunday, Aug. 21 when it hosts Southern Conference favorite Samford. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT and the match will be streamed by CUSAtv.

• Head Coach Brian Lee enters his fourth season at the helm of the Rice soccer program. He holds a 34-15-7 record in three seasons and 321-202-62 in 25 years as a head coach.
• Rice welcomes back 14 letterwinners and eight starters from last year's squad that went 10-5-2.
• Senior midfielder Delaney Schultz leads the midline after earning Conference USA Player of the Year honors last year.

• Samford welcomes back 21 letterwinners from last year's squad that went 16-3-3 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
• Midfielder Mary Raymond and forward Taylor Yount are the Bulldogs' leading returning scorers with 22 points apiece.
