Owl Fest 2022 Set for August 20 at Rice Stadium

Owl Fest 2022, the free annual fan fest for Rice fall sports, is slated for Saturday, August 20th at 6:30 p.m. on the west concourse of Rice Stadium. The Owls will host an open scrimmage for the football team and conduct autographs from members of the football, cross country, soccer, and volleyball teams. The event will give members of the Rice Family their first chance to celebrate the start of the upcoming athletic season and meet and greet their favorite players and teams!
Admission to Owl Fest is free as is parking in the Greenbriar Lot on the west side of the stadium. Gates open shortly after 6:00 p.m. for those who wish to arrive early prior to the football scrimmage. Throughout the event the Rice Ticketing staff will be available at the Fan Services Table to help fans lock in their seats for the action this upcoming year.
Fans who plan to attend are encouraged to RSVP to the event by clicking here if fans have not already have done so.
Owl Fest will be the first official event where fans can experience first hand the first phase of stadium renovations that is part of this season's "For The Owls" campaign to salute the Owls' loyal fan base as Rice approaches full membership in the American Athletic Conference. The fan-facing improvements to Rice Stadium have reshaped the field level chair back seating areas, address fan feedback regarding the concourses, and make several notable changes to the visual presentation inside the stadium as well.
Other activities include the Shop Rice Owls team apparel shop and the Owls Kidz Zone, which will feature a ball toss inflatable, sidewalk chalk, and a photo booth. Members of Rice's spirit groups will also be on hand to heighten the Rice spirit. DJ Chaney will be live on the stadium loudspeakers with upbeat music being shared for further entertainment!
Food trucks from Oh My Gogi and Stuff'd will be on hand, along with other vendors like Body Armor, Howdy Homeade Ice Cream, and Kona Ice. There will be free sampling of food and beverages as well from Rudy's, Karbach Brewing, and Yeungling. Fans will also be able to pick up autograph cards, team posters, and have a chance to participate in enter-to-win giveaways along the concourse. The CoolBreeze zone will be activated underneath the "R" Room for fans to be able to stay cool during the event.
In addition to Owl Fest beginning at 6:30 p.m., Rice Athletics is co-hosting a Student Social Welcome Back Day from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m that will feature the NCAA Final Four Fan Jam, an inflatable obstacle course, backyard tailgate games, and have plenty of free food, swag, and more.
