Spitz Named to C-USA Swimming and Diving All-Academic Team

Rice junior backstroker Zoe Spitz is one of six student-athletes who have been named to the 2022 Conference USA Swimming and Diving All-Academic Team in a vote of the conference's academic advisors.

Spitz is a three-time C-USA Academic Medal recipient and carries a 3.95 GPA while majoring in Economics. She has been honored three times on the C-USA Academic Honor Roll, has been on Rice's President's Honor Roll on four occasions, and has been named a Rice University Honor Athlete.

In the pool, she posted the conference's fastest time in the 200 backstroke (1:57.14) which is the fourth-fastest time in school history and has the third-fastest time in C-USA in the 100 Backstroke (53.96), which also ranks fourth at Rice.

Spitz and her Rice teammates will open their pursuit of a Conference USA title on Wednesday when the C-USA Swimming and Diving Championship gets underway at the Liberty University Natatorium in Lynchburg, Virginia.
