Eleven Swimmers to be Honored on Friday
11/3/2022 5:21:00 PM | Swimming & Diving
Ceremonies begin at 3:30
Rice will celebrate the careers of the 11 senior members of the Owls swim team on Friday as the Owls honor Adalyn Armistead, Shannon Campbell, Chloe Corbitt, Maddy Howe, Kate Jablonski, Sini Koivu, Ahalya Lettenberger, Lauren McDougall, Virginie Qian, Sophie Reilly and Zoe Spitz prior to their final home dual of the season when they host Tulane at 3:30 p.m. at the Rice Competition Pool. The start was moved up 30 minutes due to the forecast for threatening weather later on Friday.
This is the 15th dual meeting between the schools, but the first as members of The American Athletic Conference as Rice is competing in the conference this year as an affiliate member. The Owls have won 13 of the previous 14. They last met on November 21, 2020, with Rice taking a 245-146 victory as the Owls saluted the members of that year's senior class.
While Friday's dual meet wraps up the home schedule for Rice, the Owls are hardly done competing this semester. They will compete in the annual Phill Hansel Invitational at the University of Houston from November 17-19 and take on Texas A&M in a dual meet on December 3. The 2022 portion of the schedule will conclude with a trip to South Florida from December 18-20 to compete in the CSCA Open Water Championship (December 18) and the FAU Winter Invitational (December 20).
They return to action in January with the SMU Triple Dual on January 13 &14, where they will face Tulane, SMU and North Texas, followed by a dual at Houston on January 28 and the SMU Invitational on February 4 before turning their attention to The American Athletic Conference Championships on February 15-18 in Dallas.
