Golf Finishes Third at Tempest Collegiate

Gladewater, Texas — The Rice Golf team earned its second straight top-three finish, taking third-place at the Tempest Collegiate.
Rice closed with a 307 to finish four-over par.
Freshman Henry Daly earned his first career top-10 finish, closing with a 76 to finish one-under par in a tie for seventh-place. He's also the first Owl to start the year with three straight top-20 finishes since Jake Benson in 2019-20.
Sophomore Raghav Chugh carded a 77 to tie for 17th-place at two-over par. It's his second top 20 finish of the season and the eighth of his career.
Graduate student Jay Kirchdorfer tied for 19th-place at three-over par after posting a 76. It's his second top 20 finish and the third of his career.
Freshman Lukas Boandl shot an 81 to finish six-over par in a tie for 26th-place, his best finish of the season. Senior Forrest Park, playing as an individual, also had his best finish of the season, tying for 29th-place at eight-over par. Junior Blake Benson carded a 78 tie for 34th-place at nine-over par.
Texas State won the team title at seven-under par, four strokes ahead of South Alabama. TSU's Tom Roed Karlsen took home medalist honors at five-under par, two strokes in front teammate Terrin Anderson.
