Taylor Wins High Jump at UH G5 & Super 22 Invitational

HOUSTON - The Rice Owls women's track & field squad concluded their weekend appearance at the UH G5 & Super 22 Invitational on Saturday by competing in five events and recording four top-three finishes.

Freshman New Zealand native Josie Taylor won her second straight high jump competition with a season-best clearance of 1.75m, which is tied for best mark in Conference USA this season. In that same event, KC Nwadei placed second clearing 1.65m

Freshman Savannah Simms finished third in the triple jump with a distance of 11.99m, a mark that ranks fifth in C-USA. To close out the competition, Caitlin Wosika placed second in the 3000m with a finish of 9:51.16.

The Owls will head to College Station next weekend to compete in the Charlie Thomas Invitational, which will take place Feb. 4-5 at Gilliam Indoor Stadium.
