Owls Head to San Antonio for UIW Time Trials

Incarnate Word and TCU
The Rice swimming team gets their first taste of a true road environment when they face Incarnate Word and TCU in a time trial meet at UIW's Ann Barshop Natatorium. No team scores will be tablulated between the three teams.
Prior to this weekend, the Owls competitive slate has been limited to Houston, as the Owls have hosted home meets with Houston, Texas A&M, and North Texas and competed in UH's Phill Hansel Invitational as well as a combined dual with the Cougars and SMUat Houston's Recreation & Wellness Center Natatorium.
Rice defeated North Texas last Saturday at the Rice Competition Pool and this week's action marks the first time they will compete in back-to-back weeks in addition to being the first true road action of the year.
"I like the idea of getting back into race mode again this week, especially on the road," head coach Seth Huston said. "It gives the team a little taste of what it will be like when we head to the Conference USA meet at the end of February."
The Owls will be back at home next weekend for a team time trial on Friday. The Conference USA Championships, which have been moved this year to Lynchburg, Virginia, get underway on February 23.
