Soccer Moves Up in College Soccer News and TopDrawerSoccer Polls

HOUSTON — Coming off a pair of shutouts to start the season, Rice has moved up in the TopDrawerSoccer and College Soccer News rankings.
Rice moved up one spot to 15th in the College Soccer News poll, while it moved up to 16th in the TopDrawerSoccer poll, a jump of six spots from the preseason poll.
The Owls defeated Sam Houston State, 4-0, and Stephen F. Austin, 2-0, to begin the season with back-to-back shutouts for the first time in school history.
Rice will play its first match away from Holloway Field this Friday, Aug. 27, when it heads across town to face Houston Baptist. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. and will be streamed by the Husky Sports Network.
