Kraule in 3rd in Heptathlon at C-USA Championships

Freshman collects 3173 points over four events
MURFREESBORO, TN - Rice freshman Eliza Kraule collected 3317 points over four events of the heptathlon on day one of the Conference USA Outdoor Championships Thursday at Middle Tennessee's Dean A. Hayes Track and Soccer Stadium.
Kraule, from Riga, Latvia, established season-best marks in the 100m hurdles (3rd-14.42) and the high jump (2nd-1.72m) while placing fifth in both the shot put (11.06m) and the 200m (26.26).
Kraule totaled 4898 points in the heptathlon earlier this season at the Texas A&M Invitational in early April.
The heptathlon will pick back up with the long jump on Friday starting at 4:30 p.m. Other events on Friday include the hammer throw and the 10,000m.
