Rice in 18th-Place After One Round of Border Olympics

Laredo, Texas — After a month between tournaments, Rice returned to the links at the Border Olympics, played at the par-72, 7,375-yard Laredo Country Club.
The Owls are in 18th-place at 33-over par after one round. The second round was suspended due to darkness with two holes to play.
Freshman Rodrigo Martin leads Rice with a five-over par 77 in a tie for 52nd-place. Junior Harrison Hineline is tied for 79th-place after posting an eight-over par 80. Senior Rishi Kejriwal carded a nine-over par 81 to sit in an 86th-place tie.
Senior Jake Benson is tied for 92nd-place and sophomore Thomas Bockholt III is tied for 94th-place after shooting an 83 and 84, respectively.
Texas A&M leads the team competition at three-under par, five shots in front of second-place Louisiana-Monroe. ULM's Andoni Etchenique leads the individual competition at four-under par, one stroke in front of Texas A&M's Walker Lee and Sam Bennett and Texas' Hunter Ostrom.

The second round will conclude at 8 a.m. tomorrow morning with the final round beginning immediately after.
