Owls Set To Return To Action on Seb. 21
Killgore played all 90 minutes in Rice's 1-0 shutout victory over visiting C-USA foe UTSA on Feb. 11 (the Owls' lone match of the week). The junior from Houston registered three saves on shots while making the 36th consecutive start of her collegiate career. Where Killgore did her part to keep the opponent off the scoreboard, she also won the game for Rice by providing an offensive presence that included leading all players in shots and scoring the game-winning goal.
This is the first time in her career for Killgore to be named the C-USA Goalkeeper of the Week. UAB's Lexxe Lipsey was named the C-USA Offensive Player of the Week while Marshall's Lauren Hollis was named the league's Defender of the Week. All C-USA weekly awards are presented by Surf and Turf Golf.
The Rice soccer team is next in action on Sunday (Feb. 21). The Owls host crosstown foe Texas Southern at Holloway Field starting at 1 pm.
