Golf Closes First Day of Trinity Forest Invitational

Dallas, Texas — The Rice golf team stands in 13th-place with a score of 600 (299-301) after two rounds of the Trinity Forest Invitational
In just his second career tournament, freshman Raghav Chugh leads the Owls, sitting in a tie for 21st-place at one-over par. He opened the tournament with a 73, but followed it with his first career round under par, firing a 70.
Senior Jack Diamond is six-over par after carding rounds of 75-73 to tie for 48th-place. Senior Jake Benson is tied for 57th-place after posting consecutive 75's.
Junior Forrest Park shot rounds of 77-75 to sit 10-over par and in a tie for 63rd-place. Sophomore Rodrigo Martin and senior Harrison Hineline are two strokes back at 12-over par in 67th-place. Martin posted rounds of 76-78 while Hineline carded a 73 before closing with an 81.
Host SMU leads the team competition at 16-under par, five strokes in front of second-place UT-Arlington. SMU's Noah Goodwin leads the individual competition at 10-under par, four strokes in front of teammate Ollie Osborne and UTA's Paul Gonzalez.

The final round begins tomorrow at 8 a.m. Rice will tee off beginning at 9:17 a.m. with UTRGV, as well as a group of individuals.
