Golf Returns to Links at Trinity Forest Invitational

HOUSTON — After a three week break, the Rice golf team will travel to Dallas for the Trinity Forest Invitational. The tournament will be played at the par-71, 7,330-yard Trinity Forest Golf Club and is hosted by SMU.

TEAM FIELD

No. 36 UTSA leads the field at the Trinity Forest Invitational. Also joining Rice in the field are Abilene Christian, Florida Atlantic, UMKC, Little Rock, Louisiana Tech, Middle Tennessee, UNLV, North Texas, Sam Houston, SMU, UT-Arlington and UTRGV.

Forrest Park – No. 3 position … led the team at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate, tying for 49^th-place … participated in two tournaments last year … averaged 77.00 strokes per round … carded a career-low 73 in the first round of the season-opening Rice Intercollegiate, where he had the best finish of his career, tying for 26th-place.

Harrison Hineline – No. 4 position … making his first start of the season … is in 10th-place since 1991 in career stroke average (74.95) and average vs. par (+3.22) … one of four players to participate in all eight team events last year … led the team in stroke average, averaging 74.62 strokes per round … played in the No. 1 spot three times … was the team's top finisher four times … had one top ten and two top 20 finishes … recorded four rounds of par or better … tied for 22nd-place at the season-opening Rice Intercollegiate (1/25) … tied for 28th-place at the Trinity Forest Invitational (3/7-9) … tied for 16th-place at the Louisiana Classics (3/15-16) … tied a career-low in the first round of the Bayou City Collegiate Classic (4/5), firing a 66 … earned his second career top-ten finish at the Lone Star Invitational (4/12-13), tying for seventh-place.

Raghav Chugh – Individual … tied for 82^nd-place at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate … No. 1 ranked junior player in India...carded a trio of 71's to finish runner-up at the 2020 Champions Link Challenge...earned a five-stroke victory at the 2019 U.S. Kids Golf World Teen Championship at Pinehurst No. 2...on the year, picked up five victories, including three to finish the year at the IGU Western India Junior Boys Championship, the Northern India Juniors Championship and the All India Juniors, which he won for the second straight year.

PAIRINGS

For Monday's first and second rounds, the Owls will tee off from holes No. 4-6 with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. CT. Rice will compete in groups with student-athletes from Abilene Christian and UNLV. Tuesday's tee times and pairings will depend on results following the previous round.

UP NEXT

Following the Trinity Forest Invitational, the Owls will travel to Montgomery for the Bentwater Intercollegiate on Oct. 11-13 at Bentwater Country Club.
