Houston Tops Rice In Preseason Match

Owls Open Season Thursday At McNeese
Visiting Houston scored off a corner kick in the 16th minute and then hung on for a 1-0 preseason exhibition win over the Rice soccer team Saturday afternoon at Holloway Field on the Rice campus.
The match between the crosstown foes was only a preseason friendly and not counting towards official results. Rice head coach Brian Lee shared his thoughts on the match in the above video.
The Owls officially open the 2021 spring season on Thursday (Feb. 4) at McNeese. The Blue & Gray is also scheduled to face the same Houston team in the regular season at UH's field in early March.
