DALLAS – Rice senior jumper Michelle Fokam was one of 14 Conference USA student-athletes to receive the league's Winter Spirit of Service Award, C-USA Commissioner Judy MacLeod announced on Monday (April 13).
The C-USA Spirit of Service Award recognizes the community service efforts of the league's student-athletes, based upon significant public service, good academic standing and participation in their elected sport.
Fokam has been active in the Houston community, consistently participating in the Houston Food Bank, Bread of Life, Main Street Ministries and the Forge for Families.
In the classroom, the Katy, Texas native maintained a 3.18 grade point average in psychology and is a three-time member of the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Fokam secured her third consecutive C-USA Field Performer of the Meet award (fifth overall) by winning the triple jump and earning silver in the long jump for 18 total points.
