Fokam Earns All-American Honors at NCAA Championships

Junior Jumps Into Top 14 On Final Attempt
AUSTIN, Texas – Junior Michelle Fokam finished 14th in the triple jump Saturday at the 2019 NCAA Track & Field Championships held in Austin to earn Second Team All-America honors.
On her third and final attempt of the championships Fokam posted a mark of 13.13-meters (43' 1"). The Katy, Texas, native moved up four spots on the leaderboard to finish 14th overall and earn All-America accolades (awarded to the top 16 NCAA finishers). As a sophomore in 2018 Fokam just missed on earning All-America status in the triple jump with a 17th place finish. Last May she registered a career-best 13.48 (44' 2.75") at the C-USA Championships in Charlotte, N.C., to win the league's individual title.
