Russell Selected to C-USA All-Academic Team

First career honor
DALLAS - Rice junior heptathlete Zinedine Russell was named to the 2019 InTouch Credit Union Women's Track and Field All-Academic Team, the league announced on Tuesday.
Russell, from Kingston, Jamaica, was named to the all-academic team for the first time in her career, earning a 4.01 GPA while majoring in Civil Engineering. Earlier this year she earned C-USA All-Conference honors by placing second (5041 points) in the pentathlon at the C-USA Indoor Championships and just last week placed third in the high jump (1.73m) for all-conference honors at the C-USA Outdoor Championships. Russell also placed fifth in the heptathlon at the Outdoor Championships, collecting a lifetime best 5051 points.
The C-USA All-Academic Team is comprised of 11 male track and field athletes with a minimum grade point average of 3.2 and at least a sophomore class standing.
