Benson Ready for NCAA Austin Regional

HOUSTON — After two straight top two finishes, including his first career victory at the Conference USA Championship, Jake Benson will participate in the NCAA Austin Regional, May 13-15, at the par-72, 7,355-yard University of Texas Golf Club and Academy in Austin, Texas.

NCAA PLAY
Benson is the No. 4 seed in the regional. Overall, six 54-hole regional tournaments will be conducted during the weekend. Three of the regionals feature 13 teams and 10 individual competitors, while the other three feature 14 teams and five individuals. The low five teams from each regional and the low individual not on those teams will advance to the finals, which will be conducted May 24-29 at Blessings Golf Couse in Fayetteville, Ark.

Teams that will be participating in the field are No. 1 seed Texas, No. 2 seed USC, No. 3 seed Pepperdine, No. 4 seed Clemson, No. 5 seed TCU, No. 6 seed Arkansas, No. 7 seed Iowa, No. 8 seed Marquette, No. 9 seed San Jose State, No. 10 seed Saint Mary's, No. 11 seed Sam Houston State, No. 12 seed UMKC, No. 13 seed Prairie View A&M and No. 14 seed Army West Point. Joining Benson as individuals are No. 1 seed Blake Elliott of McNeese State, No. 2 seed Angus Flanagan of Minnesota, No. 3 seed Cody Burrows of Oral Roberts and No. 5 seed Jeffrey Peters of Saint Peter's (N.J.).
