WT&F: Fokam Named C-USA Field Performer of the Meet

Junior won long jump, placed second in triple jump
DALLAS - For a second straight year, Rice junior Michelle Fokam was selected the Conference USA Indoor Female Field Performer of the Meet, the league office announced on Friday.
A native of Katy, Texas, Fokam scored 18 points for the Owls at the C-USA Indoor Championships last weekend in Birmingham, Ala. Fokam won her fifth career C-USA title by winning the long jump (6.11m) and the next day broke the indoor school record in the triple jump with a leap of 13.31m, which currently ranks eighth in the nation.
Fokam has now won three career C-USA Performer of the Meet awards, having swept the Indoor/Outdoor Field honors last season.
