Golf Opens 2019 Spring Campaign Co-Hosting the All-American Intercollegiate

HOUSTON — Rice golf opens the 2019 spring season this Sunday-Tuesday, February 17-19, when it co-hosts the All-American Intercollegiate with Houston. The tournament will be played at the par-72, 7,096-yard Golf Club of Houston.

TEAM FIELD
No. 34 South Carolina, No. 37 Baylor and No. 49 Houston lead the All-American Intercollegiate field. Also joining Rice in the field are Charlotte, Lamar, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana Tech, New Mexico State, McNeese State, North Texas, Sam Houston State, UT-Arlington and UTSA.

Campbell Gibson – No. 5 position … making his collegiate debut … native of Dundee, Scotland … averaged 76.29 strokes over seven rounds last summer.
Mason Weld – Individual … one of two seniors on the team … averaged 77.13 strokes per round in the fall … tied for 52nd-place at the season-opening Lone Star Invitational (+10) … tied for 90th-place at the Ram Masters Invitational.
Harrison Hineline – Individual …saw action in two tournaments in the fall, averaging 75.83 strokes … made his collegiate debut at the Trinity Forest Invitational, tying for 45th-place … fired a 70 in the first round.
PAIRINGS
For Sunday's first round, the Owls will tee off from hole No. 10 beginning at 8 a.m. CT. Rice will compete in groups with student-athletes from Baylor and UTSA. Monday and Tuesday tee times and pairings will depend on results from the previous round.
