HOUSTON – The No. 16 ranked Texas A&M swim team claimed a 158-102 dual meet win over Rice Saturday afternoon at the Owls' Competition Pool.
HOUSTON – The No. 16 ranked Texas A&M swim team claimed a 158-102 dual meet win over Rice Saturday afternoon at the Owls' Competition Pool.
Rice was paced on the day by a pair of wins in two events. True freshman Zoe Spitz, a native of Newport Beach, Calif., won her collegiate debut in the 200-backstroke with a time of 2:04.95. The Owls closed out the meet by holding-off a Texas A&M rally to win the 200-freestyle relay. The Rice foursome of Kate Nezelek, Sini Koivu, Marta Cano-Minarro and Becca Evans registered a time of 1:33.55 that is the best mark in Conference USA so far this season.
