Three-Day Meet Structured Like Conference Championships

The Rice swim team returns to action at the annual Phill Hansel Invitational, a big three-day, 13-team meet across town at the University of Houston this Thursday-Saturday (Nov. 21-23). Owl head swim coach Seth Huston previews the action in the above video.
The meet is structured like the conference championships with at least five swim events on each of the three days, and a morning round of preliminary qualifying races followed by an evening session of championship/consolation finals. Preliminary races begin each morning at 10 am, while event finals begin at 6 pm (3 pm on Saturday). The Invitational will be held at UH's Recreation & Wellness Center Natatorium.
Joining Rice at the meet are Colorado State, Florida Gulf Coast, Nevada, Northern Colorado, Tulane, UC Davis, The United States Air Force Academy, Washington and host Houston. North Texas, Nebraska-Omaha and New Mexico are competing in the diving events only. The schedule of evening swim events is as follows:
