
Morgan Selected C-USA Defensive Player of the Week

DALLAS – Rice senior middle blocker Grace Morgan was selected the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
Morgan totaled 10.0 blocks over six sets in a pair of Rice wins this past weekend, helping the Owls set a program record with 13 conference wins. Morgan averaged 1.67 blocks per set and was a big reason why Rice held their opponents to hitting percentages of .097 and -.071, respectively. In Rice's sweep at UTEP, Morgan tied her season-high with 7.0 blocks. In addition her defense, Morgan hit .450 for the weekend with 12 kills on 20 attacks. The Crowley, La. native leads the Owls with 74 blocks this season
The No. 21 Owls will be hosting the C-USA Tournament this weekend, Nov. 22-24 at Tudor Fieldhouse and will play their first match on Friday as the No. 2 seed vs. No. 7 UTEP at 5 p.m. Tickets are on sale at RiceOwls.com.
