Here's a look at the Owls efforts on the field in Week Eight:
Chris Boswell—Kicked 42-yard field goal, his longest this season and converted all four PATs in the Steelers 33-18 win over Cleveland. The Steelers are on the road this week, taking on Baltimore on Sunday afternoon.
Bryce Callahan- Started for Chicago and was credited with four tackles, including a sack, as the Bears beat the Jets, 24-10. The Bears will travel to Buffalo this weekend, setting up a reunion of the two cornerbacks who anchored the Owls 2013 C-USA Championship squad (Callahan and the Bills Phillip Gaines).
Christian Covington—Picked up a pair of tackles as the Texans won their fifth straight, 42-23 over Miami. He will face the Denver Broncos on the road this Sunday in one of the late games.
Emmanuel Ellerbee—After being waived while with the Chargers in London, Ellerbee was claimed by Seattle and was not active in their 28-14 win at Detroit. He'll reunite with his former Charger teammates from the other side of the field this weekend when Seattle visits Los Angeles.
Phillip Gaines—Credited with a career-high 10 tackles in the Bills 25-6 loss to New England on Monday Night Football. He will welcome his former partner in the Rice defensive backfield, Bryce Callahan, this Sunday when the Bill host the Bears.
Vance McDonald— Caught three passes for 47 yards as the Steelers blasted Cleveland 33-18. His second catch of the day was his 100th in the NFL. The Steelers are on the road this week, taking on Baltimore on Sunday afternoon.
Andrew Sendejo—Inactive because of an injury for the third consecutive week as the Vikings lost to the Saints 30-20 on Sunday Night Football. The Vikings host Luke Willson and the Detroit Lions this weekend.
Jordan Taylor—Completing his rehab from offseason surgery on both hips, he began practicing with the Broncos last week, but has not been placed on the active roster. Denver hosts Houston this weekend.
Luke Willson—Caught three passes for 21 yards as the Lions lost to Seattle, 28-14. He will potentially face his former Rice teammate Andrew Sendejo this week as the Lions visit the Vikings on Sunday.
Also of note, Peter Godber, is currently on the six-game injury list for the BC Lions in the CFL who dropped a 35-16 decision to Saskatchewan. The Lions close out the regular season on Saturday by hosting Calgary before moving on the CFL playoffs.
