
Owls Return Home with Shutout

The 41st ranked Rice men's tennis team celebrated its return to familiar surroundings by blanking Cleveland State 7-0 at the George R. Brown Tennis Center on Thursday.
Friday's match was the first of a five-match homestand for the Owls, who have played 12 of the last 14 matches away from home and the celebrated by improving their season mark to 15-5.
The Owls grabbed the doubles point with wins at the first and third lines and then swept to straight set wins on all six singles courts with senior David Warren providing the clinching point with a 6-1, 6-2 win on court three.
Rice returns to action on Saturday at noon when they host Dartmouth. The homestand continues next weekend when they host Denver, UNVL and Texas A&M Corpus Christi in the 59th annual Rice Invitational.
