News & Notes
*Rice returns home for a pair of matches this weekend in the midst of a season-high six-match winning streak. The Owls have won 11 of 12 matches overall, including eight straight at Tudor Fieldhouse.
*The Owls six-match win streak during Conference USA play is the longest by the Owls since entering the league in 2005.
*Rice leads the all-time series over UTSA, 15-7. The Owls are 36-9 all-time versus UTEP, however, the Miners are the only reason the Owls haven't won 12 straight matches overall. UTEP defeated the Owls in five sets in the C-USA opener back on Sept. 22 in El Paso.
*Sunday's match vs. UTEP will be the annual Dig Pink match for the Owls.
*The Owls (16-5, 6-1) moved up in the VolleyballMag.com Mid-Major rankings from No. 23 to No. 22 this week. WKU (No. 5) and North Texas (T-15) also represent C-USA in the poll.
*Rice leads C-USA in digs per set (16.76), total team digs (1,425), and team assists (1,072).
*During C-USA play, sophomore middle blocker Grace Morgan has been spectacular for the Owls. The Crowley, La. native leads the league in hitting percentage (.489), totaling 108 kills on 190 attacks.
