
Bennett and Warren Qualify for NCAA Doubles

Rice juniors Tommy Bennett and David Warren will represent Rice and Conference USA as the conference's automatic qualifier in the 2016 NCAA Men's Doubles Championship as part of the 32-team field announced on Wednesday by NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Subcommittee.
Doubles action will be held from May 25-30 as part the NCAA Championships at the Case Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Tulsa.
The Owls' duo became the first since 2008 to reach the NCAA tournament after storming into the national top 30 in doubles by posting a 7-2 record, including wins over the 41st, 24th and 17th ranked doubles teams in consecutive matches.
They are the eighth Rice doubles team to qualify for the NCAA tournament.
Bennett and Warren will open their NCAA Championship action on May 13 when the 26th ranked Owls will face LSU in the opening round of the Ft. Worth Regional. Match time has been moved up to 10 a.m. at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth, Texas.
