Rice Tennis to Host NCAA Selection Party

Rice tennis fans are invited to join with the members of the Owls men's and women's teams in the R Room at Rice Stadium Tuesday, May 3 for the announcement of the 2016 NCAA Championship brackets. The event will begin at 3:30 prior to the start of the NCAA selection shows at 4 p.m.
Both teams earned automatic berths in the fields of 64 teams for the 2016 championship by winning their respective Conference USA titles last weekend. This is first time since 2006 that both teams will compete in the same year.
The Rice women will be making their fifth consecutive trip to the NCAA tournament looking to advance to the round of 32 for the fifth straight year. This will be their ninth overall trip the national tournament.
The Rice men are returning to the NCAA championship for the first time since 2011 and making their 11th appearance in the tournament since 2001.
The NCAA Women's tournament selection webcast is set to start at 4 p.m. (central) with the men's announcement to follow at 4:30. Those fans who cannot join the Owls for the announcements can watch the shows on ANCAA.com.
