Ip Advances to Regional Singles Semifinals

Katherine Ip rolled to a pair of straight set wins to reach the singles semfinals of the USTA/Texas Regional Championships which were resumed on Sunday at the Hawkins Indoor Center in Waco after rains washed out Saturday's schedule at the Mitchell Tennis Center in College Station.
Ip downed SMU's Vaszilisza Bulgakova 6-4, 6-2 to advance to the quarterfinals where she defeated 16th seeded Alexandra Zenovka of TCU, 6-3, 6-3. She will face Texas' Breaunna Addison, the fourth seed in the semifinals on Monday at 10 a.m.
Solomiya Zinko, who joined Ip in advancing to the of 16, fell to third seed Despoina Vogasari of Houston, 7-6(6); 6-2.
