
Rice Golf Begins Spring Season

UTSA Oak Hills Invitational Round 2 Results
SAN ANTONIO - Rice opened the 2012 spring season on Monday, shooting a two-round 617 and is currently in 15th place at the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational.
The Owls will tee off from No. 10 Tuesday morning beginning at 8:15 a.m. for the final 18 holes of the tournament being played at Oak Hills Country Club.
After opening play with a 77, Jeff Wibawa fired a three-under par 68 Monday afternoon to move into a tie for 19th. The sophomore birdied three straight holes early in the round en route to his 68.
Wibawa is currently three-over for the tournament (two-round 145) and is six strokes back of the second-round leaders, Abraham Ancer of Oklahoma and Louisiana-Lafayette's Andrew Noto who shot 139s on Monday.
Oklahoma shot a two-round score of 572 (+4) and has a four-stroke lead over Big 12 rival Baylor. Texas Tech is five strokes back of the Sooners' lead.
Following the UTSA tournament, the Owls play host to the Rice Intercollegiate next Monday and Tuesday at Westwood Golf Club in Southwest Houston.
