UTSA Oak Hills Invitational Final Results
SAN ANTONIO - Rice began the spring season with a three-round 918 team score to finish in 15th place at the UTSA Oak Hills Invitational. The Owls shot a 301 during Tuesday's final round.
Led by Clement Sordet's 66, Texas Tech won the team title by three strokes over second-round leader Oklahoma. The Red Raiders shot a three-round 859 for their fourth straight UTSA Oak Hills Invitational title.
Baylor's Joakim Mikkelsen shot a 68 on Tuesday then held off Sordet in a three-hole, sudden-death playoff to capture individual medalist honors. Both Mikkelsen and Sordet shot three-round 210s.
Rice was led by sophomore Jeff Wibawa who came back from an opening-round 77 to finish with a three-round 218 (+5) to finish in a tie for 16th.
The Owls are back in action next Monday and Tuesday when the team plays host to the Rice Intercollegiate at Westwood Golf Club in Southwest Houston.
