HOUSTON - Chris Hagan has announced he will be transferring from Rice University to Blinn Junior College to continue his education as well as play basketball.

Hagan suffered a knee injury during the third game of the 2007-08 season and missed the remainder of the year.

At Blinn, he will be able to improve his academic standing, pursue his associate's degree and will have three seasons of collegiate playing eligibility remaining.

"I want to thank everyone at Rice for their help and support, especially Coach (Ben) Braun," Hagan said. "He was able to help get my name out and give me an opportunity to go to a successful junior college."
