
Rice Ties for 11th at Carter Plantation Intercollegiate

SPRINGFIELD, La. - Rice closed out play with a 313 team round to finish in a tie for 11th Tuesday at the Carter Plantation Intercollegiate.
The Owls shot a 943 at the Southeastern Louisiana-hosted tournament.
Rice was led by Christopher Brown who shot a 76 Tuesday to card a three-round score of 236 and finish in a tie for 36th. Rice had three other players tie for 44th with scores of 238 - Kyle Kelley, Addison Awe and Michael Whitehead.
Middle Tennessee State stretched out its second-round lead by shooting a 295 as a team Tuesday to win the tournament by 26 strokes over second-place Marquette. Middle Tennessee shot a three-round score of 881 while Marquette shot a 907. Louisiana-Lafayette was third with a 910.
Middle Tennessee was led by individual medalist Rick Cochran who shot a 215 (one-under par). St. John's Keegan Bradley shot a 218 to finish second.
Rice returns to action April 11-13 when the Owls travel to the Wolfpack Invitational in Wallace, N.C.
