The Rice men's 15-game home schedule includes contests against both Oklahoma and Texas A&M in late December as well as Houston during Conference USA play. The season begins Nov. 15 when Rice plays host to Portland State in newly renovated Tudor Fieldhouse.
Last year, Portland State captured both the Big Sky regular season and post-season tournament championships and the Vikings are picked to repeat as conference champions in 2009. The Viks return Big Sky MVP Jeremiah Dominguez, who averaged 14.2 points and four assists last year as a junior.
Both Oklahoma and Texas A&M advanced to the NCAA Tournament last year while the Owls' final home opponent of the 2008-09 season, Tulsa, won the inaugural CBI post-season national tournament.
Rice also plays host to in-state non-conference opponents Lamar, UTSA and Texas State as well as Ivy League-member Harvard. The Owls' home Conference USA schedule also includes SMU and UTEP.
The Rice men will play a pair of double-headers with the women's squad. The men will play host to Texas State while the women take on Texas-Arlington on Dec. 6. On Dec. 17 the women will play host to UCLA while the men's squad squares off against Harvard.
The women's team will christen Tudor Fieldhouse Nov. 14 when they take on Cal State Northridge to begin a four-game homestand which also includes SWAC regular-season champion Prairie View A&M, NCAA Tournament participant Baylor and Furman. In addition to playing UCLA, the Owls will play host to NCAA Sweet 16 team George Washington prior to Conference USA play.
The C-USA schedule for the women includes home-and-home series with Houston, SMU, UTEP, Tulsa and Tulane. The Owls also play host to Southern Miss, UAB and Memphis.
Single-game tickets for men's games are $25 and $15 for adults and $10 for youth for premium contests (Houston, Oklahoma & Texas A&M) while individual tickets for the balance of the schedule are $18, $12 and $8.;
Single-game tickets for women's games are $7 for chairback and $6 for both sideline and end court seating.
