Syptak and Galaxy fall short in World Bowl

John Syptak, and his Frankfurt Galaxy teammates fell short of their goal of repeating as the champions of NFL Europa on Saturday as the Hamburge Sea Devils captured the Yellow Strom World Bowl with a 37-28 victory in Frankfurt on Saturday.
Syptak, who finished second in the league with 5 1/2 sacks in the 10-game regular season, was credited with one sack among his three tackles while making the start at defensive end for the Galaxy.
Syptak, who was allocated to the Galaxy by the San Francisco 49er's, and will return home soon to being preparations for the opening of training camp in late July.
A product of Bellville High School, Syptak was a three-year starter for the Owls, earning All WAC honors in 2004 and All C-USA accolades in 2005. He finished his career ranked third in school history with 16 sacks and was named the 2006 winner of the Bob Quin Award as the school's top senior male athlete. He graduated from Rice with a triple major in economics, managerial studies and sports management.
