LAJOLLA, Calif. -- The Rice men returned to dual-match action with a dominant singles showing against St. Joseph's, winning 6-0 on Sunday afternoon in LaJolla, Calif.
Starting with singles, the Owls swept all six matches for the victory. Tobias Scheil and Hoony Shin both scored 6-1, 6-0 victories at the four and six singles positions. Filip Paroci also made quick work of his Hawks foe, Chris Chirico, winning 6-1, 6-1. Ben Harknett stayed undefeated at No. 1 singles, downing Jarrett Chirico 6-2, 6-4 to improve to 7-0.
Doubles was not played. With the victory, the 25th-ranked Owls move to 8-3 on the year. Rice next faces UC-Irvine on Tuesday at 3 pm (CST).
