
Loggins, Neaves Lead Owls Past Golden Knights

Orlando, Fla. - Tiffany Loggins had her third double-double of the season, scoring 15 points and grabbing a career-high 11 rebounds, and Rice overcame a slow start to roll past UCF 75-57 Sunday afternoon at UCF Arena. Lauren Neaves had her 48th career double-double with a game-high 16 points and 10 boards as the Owls improved to 15-10 overall and 8-4 in Conference USA play. UCF fell to 8-17 and 3-9.
Kadie Riverin chipped in 14 points and five assists, and freshman guard Tara Watts added a career-high 12 points in the win. Rice led 36-32 at the half.
Rice shot only 38.2 percent from the field in the first half, but lit up the nets in the second period, shooting 51.9 percent from the floor. UCF went the other way, cooling off from 51.7 percent shooting to make only 10 of 30 shots in the second half. The Owls outrebounded the Golden Knights 45-28 and shot 81.8 percent from the line. UCF suffered at the free throw stripe, converting only 4-12.
Francine Houston led UCF scorers with 14 points, while Keunta Miles and Amber Long popped in 11 each.
The Owls hit the road again Thursday when they travel to Dallas to take on SMU.
