LaCoya Terry scored 18 points and led a second-half ECU surge as the Pirates (8-10, 3-2) defeated Rice 74-60 Sunday at Minges Coliseum. Krystal Frazier had a game-high 21 points for Rice, and Tara Watts added 10 as the Owls dropped to 9-9 overall and 2-3 in C-USA.
Rice led 34-33 at the half, but shot only 6-38 from the field in the second half and the Owls were dominated on the boards, 55-36.
Next up for Rice is a rematch with Houston at 3 pm Sunday at Autry Court. The game will be televised on ESPN2.
