Cary, N.C. - The Rice golf team concluded the Courtyard by Marriott Intercollegiate (MacGregor Downs Country Club - par 72; 6,787 yards) in 11th place after a final round of 292. The Owls finished with an 881 score (292-297-292).
Kentucky won the tournament with an 854 (275-292-287), four strokes better than second-place Duke. Duke's Ryan Blaum, who started Saturday's action in second place, fired a five-under 67 in the final round to capture individual honors. Blaum finished at 202 (65-70-67).
The Owls were led by Parker LaBarge's +2 218 (74-71-73) which placed him tied for 22nd, moving him up three spots from Friday. Sophomore Jeff Krakowiak led Rice in the final round with a 71 and finished tied for 51 at 221 (74-76-71).
Rice's next competition is at the US Intercollegiate (hosted by Stanford) on Saturday, April 15 and Sunday, April 16 in Palo Alto, Calif.
