Palo Alto, Calif. -- Sunday's third and final round of the U.S. Intercollegiate hosted by Stanford University was cancelled due to continuous rain showers after only three holes of action on the Stanford Golf Course. It had rained so much that water was collecting on the course and on the greens making play unbearable.
Therefore, only two rounds of action determined team and individual finishes. Rice shot 611 (304-307) on Saturday to finish 15th and Parker LaBarge led the Owls with a tied for 35th finish at 150 (74-76).
UCLA was the low-team after Saturday's two rounds to capture team honors. The Bruins shot 293-285 for a 578 score, one stroke better than Southern California (290-289=579). Stanford's Rob Grube, remarkably, was the only golfer under par on Saturday with a five-under 135 (71-64).
Rice is next in action when it competes at the Conference USA championship on April 24, 25, and 26 at the Old Waverly Country Club in West Point, Miss.
