
Owls Place Seventh at Border Olympics

Laredo, Texas -- At the 55th annual Border Olympics, the Rice Owls golf team placed seventh out of 16 competing teams with an 886 score (285-296-305) at the Laredo Country Club (par 72; 7,241 yards) in Laredo, Texas. Rice's first round 285 total was its lowest round of the season. The event was captured by Baylor at 855 (286-275-294). Kevin Fortin-Simard of Memphis won individual honors with a 203 total (66-69-68 -13).
The Owls were led by senior Parker LaBarge, who placed seventh, with a 216 (70-72-74). Sophomore Jeff Krakowiak placed tied for 21st with a 220 score (72-70-78)
