Neaves Named C-USA Player of the Week

Senior forward Lauren Neaves earned Conference USA player of the week honors after leading Rice to a 2-1 week that included a 79-66 upset of #10 Texas A&M, the league office announced Monday.
Neaves averaged 18.7 points and 14.3 rebounds in three games, including a 20-point, 20-rebound effort against A&M. Her rebounding effort matched the third-highest single-game total in school history.
The 6-2 Florida native shot 57.5 percent from the field and 75 percent from the free throw line, and had 10 blocks and four assists on the week. Neaves had her 41st career double-double in a 78-62 loss to Marquette, scoring 21 points and grabbing a game-high 14 rebounds.
