
Rice to Face Marquette Friday

Rice's women's basketball team will look to rebound from a 69-67 loss to Wake Forest a week ago as the Owls travel to Milwaukee to face Marquette at 7 pm on Friday at the Al McGuire Center. Marquette is riding a seven-game winning streak with a 9-1 record, and is undefeated at home this season, while Rice is 4-5 entering Friday's contest.
The Owls will be led by junior forward Lauren Neaves, the team's top scorer at 13.3 points a game, and top rebounder at 10.3 per game. Junior guard Krystal Frazier leads the team in the backcourt, tossing in 11.9 points a game and grabbing 21 steals in nine outings. Kadie Riverin averages three assists a game for Rice.
Christina Quaye is Marquette's top player, leading the team in scoring (15 ppg) and rebounding (6.5 rpg). Jasmine McCullough (12.0 ppg) and Carolyn Kieger (10.0) also average in double figures scoring, and Kieger dishes out 6.5 assists a game.
Rice plays at Texas A&M on Jan. 2, before returning home to open Conference USA play against Southern Miss on Jan. 6 at Autry Court.
