
Hoban Garners C-USA Setter of the Week Honors

HOUSTON - Rice senior Kristina Hoban was named the Conference USA co-setter of the week on Monday, receiving the honor for the second time this season.
Hoban recorded her tenth double-double with 55 assists and 12 digs, helping rally the Owls from a 2-0 deficit and defeat UTEP in five games. Her .556 hitting percentage against the Miners was her best of the season. The veteran did not have a single hitting nor block error on the weekend. In a sweep of Tulane, Hoban posted a career best seven blocks. She also posted another double-double to bring her total to 11 (in addition to her three triple-doubles) on the year with 43 assists and 10 digs against the Green Wave. Additionally, Hoban's 43 assists brought her career total to 3,747 to move into second on Rice's all-time assist list. For the week, Hoban averaged 12.25 assists, 2.75 digs and 2.06 points per game.
Hoban shared the weekly honor with Houston's Jennifer Hohl. The Owls and Cougars face off on Wednesday at the UH Alumni Center at 7 pm.
